The Seven Jewel Bird flies

The Seven Jewel Bird is available in paperback! Copies can be ordered through on-line retailers and brick-and-mortar bookstores. I have enabled worldwide distribution insofar as the print-on-demand service allows. That covers all of North America, all of Europe, much of Asia, some of Africa and none of Latin America south of Mexico.

I had planned an ebook edition, and paid for creation of the necessary files. That idea hit two walls. The first involved concessions from an independent publisher required by the two major ebook distributors, names of both of which start with “A.” The second was that the print-on-demand service rolled out an ebook conversion feature with major bugs unaddressed while at the same time reducing support staff to skeletal. Ultimately, I elected to remain a stone-aged primitive, and canceled the ebook edition.

Some of you have purchased copies of the paperback. I am grateful. If enough copies sell to cover both publication costs of the book and production/distribution costs for a poster of the cover illustration, such a poster will become a reality. The book has not yet reached break-even. Sales have stalled. Hope springs eternal.
